What this tool does
- You place things by eye, on the page, and move them with a finger or a mouse.
- Highlight, box, circle, draw an arrow, scribble freehand: you pick up the pen and draw.
- The highlighter lets you read the text underneath: it multiplies the colour instead of laying it on top.
- The drawing is written into the page, not into a floating annotation that many readers do not display.
- Nothing is applied before you save: the original file stays intact.
What it does not do: We add a layer on top of the page; we do not rewrite an existing paragraph, and a highlight erases nothing. To make text disappear, “Redact” is the tool. A PDF is a frozen layout, and the tools that claim to edit it guess, and damage.
