Make a stapled booklet, or print 2 or 4 pages per sheet

A booklet stapled down the middle is not printed in the order it is read: on the outer sheet, the last page sits next to the first. That is the calculation this tool does.

What this tool does

The signature order, the one nobody can guess and which is only proved after folding: the last page next to the first.
The signature is padded to a multiple of four, and the blank pages fall IN THE MIDDLE, never on the cover.
Or simply 2 or 4 pages per sheet, in reading order, to reread a thesis without going through a ream.
The screen says how many SHEETS to print, the question you actually ask at the printer, rather than the number of sides.
A margin around each page, for the fold or the staple.

What it does not do: Links, bookmarks and form fields do not survive: a page laid onto a sheet becomes a drawing. Double-sided printing depends on your printer: bind on the short edge, otherwise every second page comes out upside down; try four pages before launching two hundred. And a very thick booklet does not fold well: past twenty sheets or so you need several signatures, which this tool does not do.
