What this tool does
- You draw the frame while looking at the image, not by typing coordinates.
- What is outside the frame is REALLY removed: a cropped image is redrawn, there is nothing to recover underneath.
- The frame is kept as fractions: applied to several images, it crops each one at the same relative place.
- The original format and quality are kept by default.
- EXIF metadata does not survive the crop: not the camera, not the date, not the place.
What it does not do: Cropping an IMAGE really removes what sticks out, and that is the difference with a PDF, where cropping only lays down a crop box and leaves the content in the file. In exchange, the operation cannot be undone: keep the original if you think you may need what was cut off. Cropping goes through a re-encoding, so a JPEG loses a little quality on the way, as it does at every save.
Nothing is uploaded. Cut your network connection once this page has loaded: the tool keeps working. How to check it yourself.
The other tools
- Merge PDFs : Several files, one document, in the order you decide.
- Organize pages : Reorder, rotate, delete, duplicate: the whole plan.
- Extract pages : Pick pages, take them out into a document of their own.
- Delete pages : Remove pages while looking at them, and they do not survive under the file you get.
