KF-PDF-XML: This PDF carries no invoice
This code shows up when an electronic invoice is validated. Here is what it means, why it fires, and what to change in the file.
Why this code appears
No XML attachment was found in the document. A Factur-X file is a PDF that CARRIES its XML as an attachment: without it, this is an invoice printed to PDF, not an electronic invoice.
How to fix it
Check that your software really produces Factur-X or ZUGFeRD and not a plain PDF. The attached file must be named factur-x.xml.
Where it happens
This check is ours, not a code from the standard: we do not cover enough of EN 16931 to borrow its numbers, and a misattributed official code would send you to fix the wrong field. It concerns PDF.
