KF-PDF-POLICE-TYPE: A font file carries a forbidden subtype
This code shows up when an electronic invoice is validated. Here is what it means, why it fires, and what to change in the file.
Why this code appears
The font is embedded, but the stream that holds it declares a /Subtype that PDF/A does not allow, most often /TrueType on a /FontFile2. That key only means something on a /FontFile3 (CFF or OpenType): a PDF/A validator such as veraPDF rejects the document.
How to fix it
Remove /Subtype from the /FontFile2 (or /FontFile) stream: the font itself does not need to change. It is a library or in-house code mistake, fixed where the font is embedded.
Where it happens
This check is ours, not a code from the standard: we do not cover enough of EN 16931 to borrow its numbers, and a misattributed official code would send you to fix the wrong field. It concerns PDF.
